Happenings

Well, here we are another day gone by. This past weekend the kids and I had the opportunity to follow Randy to St. George and Richfield where he did a few concerts. We drove down to St. George Friday morning and by the evening the kids did not want to sit anymore so we didn't make it through the concert. (The old people there were very rude, to top it off). I was so frustrated and upset that we went back to the hotel and went to bed. I did however get to see one of my good friends from college that I haven't seen for about two years. That was the highlight of the trip for me.

Saturday was Regan's 5th birthday and the band did a parade which Regan told everyone was "her birthday parade." It was very cute. (Side note: Randy makes one HOT drum major!!) Then it was on the road again to Richfield. The hotel in Richfield had an indoor pool so the kids and I went swimming before the concert to get some energy out. They actually did very well during the concert and I was very happy with them, so we went swimming again afterwards so that they would sleep. We got to sleep in a little bit on Sunday before coming home. All in all it was a good trip.

On a sadder note, my sister has moved to Washington :( I don't know what I'm going to do without her. My mom and dad were able to go up with them to help them get unpacked and settled in. That is why I decided to go to St. George for the weekend. I figured that if half my family wasn't going to be here to celebrate Regan's birthday, that we'd run away for the weekend too. Things seem to be going well for them up there and I wish them the best of luck!

Sold

We were finally able to sell our truck and trailer!! For those of you who don't know the story, we "tried" to go to Lake Powell this summer, but lost the transmission on the truck, not once, but twice. After racking up the credit card in repair and towing fees we decided the truck had better go and without the truck we couldn't pull the trailer. It was a hard decision to make (at least for me. I think Randy had his mind made up the second time the truck broke down) but we knew we needed to do something. After having them both posted on ksl.com for almost three months, they finally sold within a week of each other. Randy needed a winter vehicle, although I'm sure he'd love to ride his motorcycle year round, so we ended up buying a '91 Jeep Wrangler. I think it will be a good little 'round town car.

Regan's 5th birthday is coming up and I'm not quite sure what to do for her. She wants an "Ariel" party, but I have no idea where to start with a kids birthday party. Do I really want 8 or so 5 year old girls at my house screaming and running around? And I don't know what to get her. She wants at least one of everything she sees on tv, so how do I narrow it down? Aah, the joys of parenthood.

Start

Well, I have decided to make a start in the blogging world. I don't have much to say today, just that I'll start this so my friends and family can see and hear from us a little more often. I have really enjoyed reading about some of my friends and family members that don't live nearby. It seems to keep us in the loop. We'll see how this goes.
